Causes of Stress

How do we become stressed? The causes are diverse and numerous:
- Work-related: new job, management role, high demands, responsibilities
- Poor health: lack of sleep, malnourished, unwell
- New born child: responsibilities, adjustments, lack of sleep
- Life transitions: teenagers, working parents, seniors
- Relationships: break ups, divorce, family disputes, responsibilities
- Death or loss among family or friends
- Expectations we place on ourselves
- Education: exams, study, demands
- Financial strain: unemployment, unstable income, debt
- Urban environment: crowds, traffic, crime, time restraints
- Discrimination: people who belong to an ethnic group or are part of a minority who are discriminated against in the public or media
- Limited support
